The bible is full of reminders to praise God. The psalms, in particular, offer frequent praise and thanksgiving. We know that God is worthy of praise for everything, from creation to our many blessings. But just how often do we need to hear those reminders?
When we want our children to learn to use the toilet, we show them over and over again. When we teach them the alphabet, we say it, sing it, and write it over and over and over. We use thousands of different methods to teach fundamental, important concepts so that our little ones progress toward independence.
God is creating us to be independent disciples, and this means we need to repeat our praise every day. The more examples to praise God we seek, find, and use the richer our lives will become. We can come up with our own words to praise God, but we can also pray along with generations of believers by always coming back to the psalms.
For great is his steadfast love towards us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures for ever. Praise the Lord.
